Start stocking up on carrots, because “word of eye” is becoming the worldwide trend. “Word of eye” was a phrase coined by Julie Cottineau of BrandTwist. She found that companies are seeing a 300% increase in traffic by updating their images at least 5 times a month. People are sharing images of where they are and what they’re doing and instead of writing about it.
Obviously words are not completely extinct, but large text is definitely second tier to the visual. We are constantly exposed to screens of many sizes, and images are the primary source of capturing our attention.
You have to make sure that your brand is shareable in a visual way. If you can’t shoot, send and share your brand then you’ve got some refocusing to do. Show what your brand does and what it stands for. There’s a not-so-newfound visual experience that is not getting the attention it needs by many companies.
So start using your “word of eye” and get the visual attention you’ve been missing out on.
