The Heart of Metta & the Entrepreneur

the heart of Metta

I hope you’ve all enjoyed a lovely summer! It’s Mochi’s third birthday today! She wants to say hi!

One of my favorite business books I’ve ever read is “The Greatest Salesman in the World” by Og Mandino.

A particular quote that has always resonated with me is,

I will greet this day with love in my heart.

This sentiment beautifully reminds me of the practice of Metta.

What is Metta?

Metta, from the Pali language, translates to “loving friendliness”. It’s a heartfelt extension of warmth and benevolence, both inward and outward.

Metta and Entrepreneurs

Our connections—with our business, our team, our clients, and our collaborators—are the heart of our success.

By including Metta into our relationships, we:

  1. Uplift Our Business: Steering it towards positive horizons and innovation.
  2. Energize Our Team: Building an environment where trust, motivation, and collaboration thrive.
  3. Deepen Client Relations: Genuine care leads to trust, loyalty, and expanded sales opportunities.
  4. Enhance Partnerships: Harmonious partnerships bring in fresh insights and can even boost sales.

Mandino also inspires with: “Never will I allow my heart to become small and bitter, rather I will share it and it will grow and warm the earth.”

Metta Practice for Entrepreneurs:

For You:

“May I be happy, healthy, and safe.
May no harm соme to me.
May I always meet with spiritual success.
May I always have patience, courage, understanding, and determination to meet and overcome inevitable difficulties, problems and failures in life.
May I always rise above them with morality, integrity, forgiveness, compassion, mindfulness, and wisdom.”

For Our Business:

“May (Your Company Name) thrive in happiness and peace.
May no challenges deter us.
May we continuously encounter spiritual and material success.
May we have patience, courage, understanding, and the resilience to rise above challenges, fortified by our values of morality, integrity, compassion, mindfulness, and wisdom.”

For Our Employees:

“May [Employee’s Name] be happy, healthy and safe. May they feel empowered and grow professionally and personally, enveloped in positivity.”

For Our Clients:

“May [Client’s Name] be happy, healthy and safe.
May they achieve their goals.
May our partnership be a source of mutual growth and satisfaction.”

  • For Our Vendors:

“May [Vendor’s Name] prosper and our bonds strengthen with mutual respect and shared success.”

Metta is more than a philosophy; it’s a proactive approach. In business, genuine connections make all the difference.

Metta offers us that heartfelt connection, and respect that strengthen relationships.

What is one tool you use to make your business flourish?

Do share! I’d love to hear from you!

All my very best,

Kalika,
